We are taught by our various theologians that there is a God, but we don’t really "know" do we? It is something like being in a dark cave, reading about the sun by candlelight, learning that the sun is round and warm and gives radiant light like the candle. So then one day you leave that cave and experience the exhilarating warmth on your skin, the fragrance and the beauty of the flowers and the trees. What a difference from just reading about it in a book. Knowing God intellectually is good, but not good enough-it’s not complete. When true knowledge leads you to understanding, ordinary knowledge is no more. It’s done its job.
